Could be lack of lubrication at high RPM due to foaming of the oil or having the wrong oil. Change your oil and filter immediately, especially if you didn't put this oil in the bike. Some people prefer synthetic oils, I use motorcycle oil because it's made for bikes. Use 10-40 oil for normal riding. If you're in a warm area and you never ride when the temperature is below 40 degrees F, you can use 20-40 or even 20-50. DO NOT use 5-30 or 5-40. Too many polymers to increase the viscosity and too light weight on the oil.
Hope your "chirp" isn't anything serious.
